Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has called on the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Prof Ishaq Oloyede to tender his resignation or get sacked.
He made the call in a recent post he shared on his official X page.
TheNiche had earlier reported that JAMB admitted to errors in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Out of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the examinations, over 1.5 million scored below 200 out of the maximum 400 marks.
Speaking in Abuja, Oloyede said some candidates would be scheduled to resit the 2025 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He added that the 379,997 candidates in the five states of the South East and Lagos, who were affected are expected to start getting text messages from Thursday.
The JAMB boss also took responsibility for what he claimed was a “sabotage” of the 2025 UTME.

“The affected candidates will start getting text messages for reschedule starting from tomorrow.
“I apologise, I take full responsibility,” Oloyede said.
Reacting to the development, Sowore reminded the JAMB Registrar that his mistake led to the death of a candidate.
He went on to call on the Nigerian government to scrap JAMB.
He wrote: “This is a country of really dangerous public officials; while @JAMBHQ registrar is here forming, he “regrets” the monumental disaster he superintended upon that has claimed a young life, and instead of resigning immediately, he brought to the same press conference a bunch of callous yesmen to clap for him. #ScrapJAMB, Sack the incompetent Prof. Oloyede Now! #RevolutionNow
“The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (@JAMBHQ) Prof. Oloyede bears responsibility for the organization’s egregious errors, which have devastatingly claimed a young life, shedding crocodile tears is not a remedy for these infractions.
“As a first step, he should resign, followed by a thorough investigation and possible prosecution for manslaughter. Moreover, JAMB must be scrapped. #revolutionnow.”
