Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore stormed a Federal High Court in Abuja with his travel bags to answer a case of alleged defamation against a police officer, Bukola Kuti, and forgery of police documents.
The Sahara Reporters publisher had alleged that the recent promotion of Bukola Kuti to the rank of Assistant Police Commissioner was not meritorious, suggesting it was because of a relationship she enjoys with her boss, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
Sowore has now appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, over allegation of defamation against Ms Kuti and forgery, including unlawful dissemination of police communications.
Yesterday, he announced via his X handle that he would be appearing before the court. He said: “Tomorrow, we are before Justice Emeka Nwite as the Illegal IGP hits the brick wall. These are his charges, his ‘evidence’ and witnesses. The public is invited to Court 8 at the Federal Court in Abuja to witness this charade. Time: 8 a.m.,” he wrote.
