Popular Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon has finally reacted to the growing controversy surrounding the absence of his one-time trusted ally and ace singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, from his recent wedding.
The music promoter tied the knot with his partner, Princess Ebiere, in a lavish and star-studded ceremony held in Warri, Delta State, over the weekend—but Davido’s absence was conspicuously noticed.
Following the event, netizens who spotted the ‘Electricity’ hitmaker’s absence from the special day of his long-standing friend and business partner turned it into a talking point online.
Wading into the saga, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, wrote on his Instagram page: “Davido is ungrateful to Soso. I’m disappointed in Davido and Chioma for not attending Soso’s wedding. The fact is, Soso Soberekon has done so much for Davido over the last few years.”
Also commenting on the snub, comedian and reality TV star DeeOne reminded Davido that despite his absence, the wedding was a resounding success.
“If you know who David is off-camera and off social media, he is a terrible man,” the influencer said, setting the tone for the rest of his rant.

DeeOne added: “None of your boys represented you, and none of your family represented you. You couldn’t even send a message. You couldn’t even tweet to say, ‘Happy married life.’
“Soso shut it down. Do you know how classy that wedding was? Private jets everywhere.”
As opinions continued to fly across various platforms, Nigerians awaiting Soso’s response finally got one after he took to social media to thank everyone who celebrated with him and his wife, while urging followers to ignore the negativity.
He wrote: “My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you to everyone who celebrated, prayed, supported, and shared in the joy of our wedding. The love my wife and I received was beyond anything we ever imagined.
“One thing is certain: LOVE WON. Please ignore all negativity as we embrace love here. Our wedding was beautiful, peaceful, and filled with genuine happiness. Finally, let me say this clearly: No one speaks for me. I speak for myself.
“Thank you all for making our day unforgettable. We love you all.”
