The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has officially released a new Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) process with a completely revised conformity assessment structure The programme is a set of conformity assessment and verification procedures applicable to all products imported or exported to Nigeria.
It also advised businessmen to obtain the SONCAP certificate before proceeding on importing/ exporting any goods to avoid seizure of their goods by the organization.

It has therefore urged all importers/ exporters to follow the due process now by downloading the new process from its website, insisting, “We must make sure we inspect any goods before shipping to Nigeria.”
