Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, has assured native doctors whose “Okite” boxes were confiscated in the state that they have nothing to fear if forensic analysis doesn’t reveal they contain human blood.
The governor, while addressing journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital, however, warned that there will be consequences if human blood is found in the boxes.
Over 30 suspected native doctors and pastors are under investigation as part of the state government’s efforts to unravel the mystery behind the boxes and restore law and order in the state.
Speaking on the saga, Soludo accused the native doctors of misleading young people with promises of supernatural protection for illegal activities, including drug trafficking, cyber fraud (Yahoo Yahoo), and kidnapping.

He said: “Many Okite are now in our custody, and the only thing that can save their owners is if forensic tests show no traces of human blood.
“They made Okite for these youths, assuring them they could pass security checkpoints undetected with hard drugs.
“But once caught, they end up in jail worldwide. When that failed, they turned to cyber fraud, and when that too failed, they became kidnappers in search of easy money.”
TheNiche learnt that “Okite” ritual is a chilling pursuit of quick wealth, fame, and supernatural power by some youths, particularly in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
The process sometimes requires participants to be buried alive in a harrowing bid to “conquer hell,” so that they can unlock untold riches and dominance after.
