Soludo, however, promised that cases of excesses by the security outfit won’t be tolerated.

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has said the state’s local security outfit, “Aguneche Mba“, is making significant impact in the state, despite isolated cases of misconduct by some of its operatives.
He made the claim on Wednesday while featuring as a guest on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.
According to the former Central Bank governor, the operatives of the security outfit are well trained.
He went on to disclose that they carry out their duties under a standard code of conduct and operating procedures.
He further acknowledged concerns raised by the recent brutalization of a female National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), member by operatives of the outfit, but added that the incident should not overshadow their overall contributions.
Speaking during the interview, Soludo said, “These guys are working very hard to keep us safe and make Anambra much safer. I think most residents agree they are making monumental contributions in helping to make Anambra one of the safest states in Nigeria.”
He also maintained that cases of excesses would not be condoned, noting: “The important thing is that we stand up to say, you can’t do this – that’s not part of your code of conduct.”
