So deep the dream experience

So deep the dream experience is.
To a different world it takes you;
But until you wake from the sleep,
Your dream world looks so real.
You talk and love and are loved;
You eat and drink and sleep.

You even have a dream in your dream,
That consolidates the mother dream as real.
Imagine your sleep-dream is really death;
You are dead but in that other life,
Which is still tangible to you,
It is all business as usual.
You are still moving about and talking,
Relating to people and caring for your mother.
You are not missing life and,
Your world is still real to you.
But to the living, you are dead,
Although your world is no less real than theirs,
You’re dead but alive in your dream world;
For death is only an unbroken dream.
It’s like there is a mystery gap,
In the dead man’s memory,
That fixes him permanently in his dream;
And so the dream lasts infinitely long.
