Snakebite tragedy: Ifunanya Nwangene laid to rest in Enugu

Late singer Ifunanya Nwangene has been buried in her hometown in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, days after her untimely death.
Nwangene died after she was bitten by a snake at her residence in Abuja on January 31, 2026. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja, where her death was later confirmed.
News of her passing sparked widespread grief, with fans, fellow musicians, and well-wishers flooding social media with tributes and messages of condolence.
In the aftermath, the Federal Medical Centre faced accusations of not having anti-venom available at the time of her treatment, allegations the hospital has since denied.
The late singer was widely admired for her exceptional talent, soulful voice, and unwavering passion for music. Her sudden death has left a deep sense of loss within the entertainment community and among her supporters.
