Slot, however, told reporters ahead of the game that Liverpool defender Gomez might be fit enough to make the bench.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has said that up to five Reds players are likely to miss the English Premier League (EPL) encounter against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Dutch tactician made the revelation during his press briefing while discussing the highly anticipated high-profile league clash.
According to Slot, the game comes too soon for the injured players, as they are not yet fit enough to feature in the fixture.
While Joe Gomez is potentially ready to return, he has not yet resumed training since picking up an injury against Bournemouth almost two weeks ago.
Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni, and Conor Bradley also remain sidelined.

Speaking ahead of the match, Slot told reporters that while Gomez might be fit enough for the bench, the others will definitely miss the encounter.
He said: “Jeremie won’t train this week, so he won’t play this weekend.
“Joe might train on Saturday. He won’t start, but he could come on if needed, since we’re short on defenders right now.”
Liverpool are currently 6th in the Premier League table with 39 points, while Man City are second with 47 points.
A win for Liverpool could take them as high as 4th position, depending on results involving Manchester United, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.
Man City, however, cannot afford to drop points; a loss or draw could see them fall 9 points behind league leaders Arsenal, should the Gunners beat Sunderland.
