Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Simisola Kosoko, simply known as Simi, has attributed her success in music to Nigerian female artistes who paved the way for her and other female artistes.

The mother of one made the assertion  during a recent interview with ‘African Folder’.

Speaking during the interview, Simi said: “There are women who have worked hard to damn the status quo.

“So, I won’t give myself much credit than for because I also benefitted from other women who came before me.”

Simi began her career as a gospel artiste before making the switch to secular music in 2014.
