Olowokere played for Akure based club, Sunshine Stars before becoming a coach at the club.

Shooting Stars football club assistant coach, Akin Olowokere, slumped and died on Monday.
He went down while in action, attracting medical attention immediately.
The ex-Sunshine Stars player and coach was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The incident happened at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, while the team was training for Matchday 2 of the ValueJet Cup 2025.
Olowokere was among the coaches appointed by the Oluyole Warriors after the NPFL club parted ways with the Gbenga Ogunbote-led coaching crew.
