Shettima gives daughter in marriage with 12 gold coins dowry, as Tinubu, Dangote, IGP, others grace occasion

Shettima daughter’s wedding also attracted the presence of Governors Mai-Mala Buni of Yobe, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, and APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu on Saturday led other dignitaries to the wedding ceremony of the daughter of his running mate, Kashim Shettima, in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The bridegroom is Sadiq Ibrahim, son of former minister of FCT, Ibrahim Bunu.

The Presidency was represented at the wedding by President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Ibrahim Gambari, and National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

Twelve gold coins were paid as dowry at the ceremony, witnessed by other dignitaries, including Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Aliko Dangote, Dahiru Mangal, Ahmed Indimi, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and his Jigawa counterpart, Governor Abubakar Badaru.

Governors Mai-Mala Buni of Yobe, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Baba, and APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, also graced the event.

The marriage rites were conducted at the Shehu of Borno’s palace where the bride, Fatima was represented by Governor Zulum of Borno, while the bridegroom, Ibrahim, was represented by former governor of Bauchi, Ahmadu Muazu.

Meanwhile, Tinubu announced Shettima as his running mate on July 10 while addressing journalists in Katsina following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari.

On July 20, the party officially unveiled Shettima as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 polls at a ceremony which was overshadowed by the attendance of men in bishops’ attires claiming to endorse the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket.
