Shehu Sani urges FG to demolish Chinese Supermarket denying Nigerians access

Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in 2015 wondered why a supermarket in Nigeria would not be accessible to citizens

Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has urged the Nigeria government to “pull down” a Chinese supermarket allegedly barring Nigerians from shopping in the facility.

He made this call on Monday on his X page after reports of discriminatory practices by the supermarket made the rounds online.

According to some netizens, the management of the supermarket situated at the China General Chamber of Commerce, along Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Road in Abuja, directed security officers in the facility not to allow Nigerians in.

The development led to Nigerians demanding that the government should stop the practice and force the supermarket to admit citizens.

Speaking on the saga, the senator, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2015 wondered why a supermarket in Nigeria would not be accessible to the citizens of the country.

He went on to say the facility should be demolished in accordance with the laws of the Country.

Shehu Sani tweeted: “Any Supermarket in our Country that is not accessible to the Citizens of Our Country but to foreigners, should be forcibly opened or be pulled down in accordance with the laws of our Country.”
