Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has faulted the classification of President Bola Tinubu’s trip to Europe as a “working vacation”.
He made his feelings about the description of the trip known on Thursday in a post he shared on his X page.
TheNiche had earlier reported that the Presidency announced that Tinubu left the country on Thursday, September 4, for his 2025 annual leave.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the vacation will last 10 working days.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave.
“The vacation will last 10 working days” Onanuga said.

The statement added that Tinubu will spend the period between France and the United Kingdom before returning to the Nigeria.
Reacting to the announcement, Shehu Sani faulted the presidency.
The former Kaduna Central senator wondered if “vacation” and “working” can be used in the same statement.
Speaking via his verified social media handle, he wrote, “I understand the word ‘working’. I understand the word ‘vacation’. The sentence ‘working vacation’ is something else.”
