Sheggz, however, acknowledged that Bella also brought something to their relationship, placing the contribution split at 70/30 in his favour.

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has vehemently rejected allegations that he was a ‘gigolo’ during his now-ended relationship with fellow reality star, Bella Okagbue.
He rejected the tag recently during a street interview with social commentator Oyemykke, which was filmed in London and later widely shared on 4 October 2026.

Sheggz and Bella first connected as housemates on the 2022 Level Up season of BBNaija, quickly becoming one of the show’s most talked-about couples under the joint moniker “Shella”.
The pair, however, confirmed their split in January 2026, after which the fallout became increasingly public. The dispute involved allegations of broken promises, unresolved financial disputes, and legal steps, including a defamation notice from Sheggz’s camp alongside counterclaims from Bella’s representatives.
In a separate interview, the winner of the 2022 edition of BBNaija, Phyna, alleged that Sheggz was highly controlling, discouraged Bella from making friends, and even physically assaulted her.
She went on to claim that Bella fully funded Sheggz’s lifestyle for years—including his food, rent, and car rentals—alleging that he owes Bella between ₦11 million and ₦30 million.

Reacting in his latest interview, Sheggz flatly rejected the assertion that he is a “gigolo” or someone who lived off a partner’s earnings.
In a bid to reframe the narrative around his finances, he pointed to his London and Banana Island properties, insisting he had been living well long before they met.
”I have my house in London and I have my house in Banana Island, Lagos. I’ve been balling since way back,” he said.
Sheggz went on to claim that he covered the larger portion of their shared costs, gave her cars, and ensured she wanted for nothing while they lived together.
He placed the contribution split at 70/30 in his favour, while acknowledging that Bella also brought something to the arrangement.
”I don’t understand, like I gave everything I could give. I’m not saying she is lying. She brought stuff to the table. 70/30. She’s a woman, she works as well. She’s a star too. We’re both stars. Did she collect money from me? I did more. I’m the man, I’m the provider. She lived with me, I provided everything for her. Like I gave her cars, I did everything for her. I loved her to bits. That was the love of my life. If we got married, this wouldn’t be a conversation. Because we didn’t get married, now, everybody is saying crazy stuff,” Sheggz said.
