Colombian singer, songwriter and dancer, Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll—simply known as Shakira—and Nigerian Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, are set to thrill the audience with the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, titled ‘Dia Dia’, at the opening ceremony of the tournament billed for Mexico City.

The performance of the mundial’s official anthem was announced on Friday in a statement issued by the world football governing body, FIFA.

Shakira and Burna Boy are expected to take to the stage at Estadio Azteca on 11 June ahead of the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

The title of the song, an Italian phrase which means “let’s go” or “come on,” is expected to be one of the centrepieces of the eagerly anticipated opening event.
