Seven die in auto crash in Kwara

Seven people have been reported dead in an auto crash on Tuesday along Ilorin-Jebba high way in Kwara State.

The crash which was a lone accident was said to have happened due to over speeding by the driver of the commercial vehicle involved.

The vehicle, a Toyota Bumper bus with registration number ZAR600XY was said to have been occupied by 19 people, all males, when the accident occured.

While seven of the occupants died, the remaining 12 were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury.

The state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jonathan Owoade, who confirmed the incident said the agency took the deceased to the mortuary at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

He said that the Nigeria Police Division, Bode Saadu in Moro Local Government Area of the state took the injured victims to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

He explained that the personal items recovered from the victims have been deposited at the Nigeria Police Division, Bode Saadu.
