Popular Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has said Nigerian politicians are the ones who made Naira Abuse a “standard behaviour” in the country.

He made the claim recently, while sharing a video message on his Instagram account, following the crackdown on Naira mutilators by anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He went to say legendary musicians such as his late father, Fela Anikukapo-Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Wasiu Ayinde aka KWAM1, couldn’t resist such temptation, adding that his dad only insists on the denomination of Naira he wants.

Speaking via his verified social media handle, Seun Kuti said: “I don’t even like to be sprayed. I’m the only artist that stops people from spraying me. Even my dad, the legendary Fela didn’t prevent people from spraying him but he demanded the denominations he wanted to be sprayed.

“Nobody wey Sunny Ade never sing for so he can be sprayed. Everybody name. KWAM 1 … eh eh. It is the politicians that made spraying a standard behaviour.”
