Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has warned fans of the South American nation against putting Inter Miami star, Lionel Messi under pressure after they demanded he must play at the 2026 World Cup.
The world champions secured their place in next year’s competition with a 4-1 win over Brazil earlier this week.

However, Messi was unavailable for the encounter and the previous game against Uruguay.
He was ruled out after sustaining a low-grade adductor muscle injury.

Following his absence in the two matches, fans have stated demanding that the 37-year-old must feature for the sixth time in next year’s World Cup.
Reacting to the call, Scaloni said only Messi can decide if he would be playing at the tournament or not.
He said, “We will see what happens, there’s plenty of time.
“We must go one game at a time otherwise [we] will be speaking about the same thing the rest of the year and we need to leave him alone, we will see.
“He will decide it whenever he wants, let’s not drive him crazy with this.”
