Singer and producer, Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has claimed that ace rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, made more of an impact on the lives of Nigerian artists than renowned music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, a.k.a. Don Jazzy.
He made the assertion recently on his X handle while reacting to the backlash that followed Olamide’s declaration of Wizkid as “the greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela.”
While addressing journalists in Canada, the ‘Omo To Shan’ crooner said, “I am blessed to have collaborated with Wizkid on multiple occasions. You know Wizkid is the greatest Afrobeats artist ever after Fela.”
Olamide’s claim later drew mixed reactions from netizens. While Wizkid fans applauded him, supporters of other artists disagreed and lambasted him for making such a divisive comment.
Reacting to the backlash, Samklef blasted the singer’s critics, saying that they were undermining Olamide’s contributions to the Nigerian music industry by disrespecting his opinion.

He argued that Olamide deserves to be respected, claiming that he broke the chain of gatekeepers in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking via his verified social media page, he wrote: “Devil go punish anybody wey talk down on Olamide! His impact in the industry even Don Jazzy dey learn.
“It was Olamide who humbled Don Jazzy after that Headies wahala. And broke the chain of the industry gatekeepers… Na him make Don Jazzy dey wear this new mask.
“After Wizkid, na Olamide get the real street credibility.”
Don Jazzy and Olamide are widely regarded as Nigeria’s most prolific music executives, owing to the number of talents they have nurtured to stardom through their record labels.
