Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has disclosed that Brazilian winger Estevão was devastated and in tears at half-time during the Blues’ narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday.

The English tactician made this known while speaking after the pivotal encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Estevão had to be replaced in the first half of the match after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 18-year-old forward pulled up and was substituted for former United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

A goal from Cunha in the 43rd minute eventually secured all three points for the Red Devils, who are now nine points ahead of Chelsea with five games remaining.

While addressing reporters, Rosenior said Estevão—who has already missed six games this season due to a hamstring issue—was gutted after picking up the latest injury.

He confirmed the youngster pulled up with what he suspects to be a recurrence of the problem ‘when he was running through on goal’.

“He was devastated; he was crying at half-time. I’m really devastated for him; it looks like it’s his hamstring. It happened at a moment when he was running through on goal—he pulls his hamstring in that moment,” Rosenior stated.
