Reece James ensured Chelsea extended their lead over Liverpool to three points after bagging a brace  

Liverpool dropped two goals lead to draw 2-2  against Brighton at Anfield

Crystal Palace stunned Man City at Etihad to record the second win of the season

Chelsea extended their lead over Liverpool by 3 points after Reece James scored a brace in a 3-0 win against Newcastle. 

The first half ended without a goal, but Reece James opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 65th minute after he reacted first to a loose ball by Matt Riches.

Reece James made it a brace in the 77th minute when he converted a rebound from Loftus-Cheek’s blocked shot. 

Chelsea ensured it was a comfortable afternoon when Jorginho scored from the penalty spot after Newcastle Keeper, Karl Darlow, tripped Kai Havert.

The game ended 3-0 in favor of the away side, who extended their lead after Liverpool were held and City lost at home.

Meanwhile, Liverpool dropped two points after scoring two goals in the first half of their game at Anfield against a resilient Brighton side.

Jordan Henderson scored as early as the 4th minute after a sumptuous pass from Mohamed Salah to make it 1-0 to Liverpool. 

His strike partner, Sadio Mane, doubled Liverpool’s advantage in the 24th minute, after an assist from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. 

Brighton reduced the deficit before the end of the first half when Enock Mwepu scored in the 41st minute after a pass from Solly March to make it 2-1.

The away side leveled the score after Leandro Trossard converted Adam Lallana’s assist to end the game 2-2. 

Manchester City went down to a 6th-minute goal from Wilfred Zaha who scored after Conor Gallagher’s pass to give Crystal Palace a 1-0 lead. 

The home side’s afternoon became more complicated when City defender Aymeric Laporte was given the marching order in the 47th minute after a professional foul.

Crystal Palace capitalized on their numerical advantage to make it 2-0 in the 88th minute through Conor Gallagher, who converted an assist from Micheal Olise.
