Rapper, Zoro claims he slept on Phyno’s house floor before hitting stardom

Zoro also said he left Phyno’s house in 2016 after someone stole the Penthauze record label boss’ money

Nigerian rap artiste, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, aka Zoro Swagbag, has revealed that famous rapper and record label owner, Phyno accommodated him before his hit song ‘Ogene’ made him famous. 

He made this known when he was featured on the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.

According to the hip hop artiste, he was sleeping on the floor in one of the empty rooms in the Penthauze Record label boss’ house before the hit song gained traction.

Zoro, who raps mainly in Igbo language,  also added that he loaned money to produce the song and that his colleague, Flavour supported him during the period.  

Speaking during the interview, he said:  “When my song ‘Ogene’ dropped, I was still in Phyno’s house. I was sleeping in an empty room that didn’t have a bed. I just had my shirt that I tie my dirty clothes on and use it as pillow and sleep on the floor.

“I loaned money to fund the video of ‘Ogene’. Flavour also supported me.”

He went on to say he left Phyno’s house in 2016 after someone stole the Penthauze boss’ money.

Zoro further added said ‘Ogene’ first resonated in the diaspora before fans in Nigeria hooped on the trend.
