The Delta judge found the 54-year-old man guilty after he was initially arraigned by the police on 8 June 2020.

A 54-year-old man, identified as Samson Nagboje, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a High Court sitting in Isiokolo, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of his four-year-old stepdaughter (name withheld).
The defendant was arrested by the police and arraigned on 8 June 2020 before the court, presided over by Hon. Justice O. Aforkeya.
During proceedings, an Assistant Director in the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Miss Phoebian Onomakpome, who led the prosecution, noted that the incident occurred on 14 May 2020 at Eloh Compound, Ovu, in the Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

She added that Nagboje unlawfully defiled his stepdaughter, an offence contrary to the laws of Delta State.
After taking final submissions from the prosecution and defence counsel, Justice Aforkeya found the defendant guilty of the offence.
The judge, who ruled that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, then proceeded to sentence Nagboje to 20 years behind bars.
