Renowned FIFA-licensed agent, Dr Drew Uyi, has added another feather to his cap.
He was honoured at the maiden edition of the Nigerian UK Sports Awards (NUKSAward) held at Home House, Marylebone, London, on September 15, 2025.
Dr Uyi was among the distinguished personalities recognised across 36 categories.
The event, themed “Championing Dreams: A Night of Legacy and Hope”, celebrated excellence in sport, culture, philanthropy, and community development.
It also doubled as a gala and fundraiser to support underprivileged athletes with resources and opportunities to achieve their dreams.
Dr Uyi was singled out for his extraordinary contributions to sports development locally and globally, as well as his commitment to giving back to humanity.
In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the organisers. “First and foremost, thanks for this award. I wasn’t expecting this, but I appreciate it so much,” he said.
He stressed the importance of culture, support, and positivity saying “We need to represent the culture. We need to give back. This award is important to me because it is about positive change. If we don’t do it, nobody will do it for us,” he added.
Born in the UK, Dr Uyi has been actively bridging gaps between African football talent and international exposure.
He played a key role in the UK–Kenya Trade Mission 2024, which scouted football talent in East Africa.
His expertise also shone through as a brand ambassador and marketing committee member for the Unity Cup 2025 in London.
Since becoming an FA-licensed agent in 2018, Dr Uyi has helped African players get noticed beyond local leagues.
He has consistently connected players with global opportunities, contracts, and sponsorship deals.
Through grassroots tournaments and scouting, he has created pathways for young athletes to achieve their dreams.
Importantly, Dr Uyi is reshaping the narrative—presenting African players not just as athletes, but as brands with global marketability.
His influence cuts across sports business, branding, mentorship, and education. For many, he is more than a role model—he is an inspiration.
By working globally while staying rooted locally, Dr Uyi continues to show what is possible. His recognition at the NUKSAward is another testament to his growing legacy in world football and beyond.
