Afrobeats singers, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, are set to settle their long-standing rift in a ‘celebrity boxing match.’
The highly anticipated face-off is scheduled for April 18 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, in Lagos
The feud between the two controversial singers started in March this year, after Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his forthcoming show.
Portable, following the invitation described the amount as ridiculous and tagged Darlington “poor”. Noting that he charges N20 million for performance.
“You are inviting me for a show, and you don’t have money. You use my name to promote your show. I charge N20 million, ask around. I don’t know that you are poor. I don’t want to be friends with poor people,” he said.
Reacting to Portable’s rant on the internet, Darlington expressed regret for inviting the ‘Zazu’ crooner, saying, “I regret it because why the insults?”

Portable then challenged Darlington to a fight, boasting that he would defeat him just as he did to Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha.
Following overwhelming public demand for a boxing match between the two artistes, event organiser, Mygamerush confirmed the bout in an Instagram post on Tuesday, saying “You asked, and now it is here. Two street kings battle for ultimate street supremacy.”
It added “The match, ‘Chaos in the Ring: Battle for Glory,’ will be held at 6 p.m.”
Shortly after the official announcement, Speed Darlington shared a video of himself training in a boxing ring, showcasing his preparations for the fight.
Also confirming his availability and readiness for the fight, Portable reposted a series of the fight announcement on his social media page.
