He also urged the incoming Minister of Sports to ensure that qualified coaches were deployed to schools to train the promising talents.

“If I am a carpenter and I am appointed as a minister, I will take your advice. What do we do to rescue this game? This game is dying; what do we do to rescue this game?

“To me, I will say now, they should take every game to the schools, let the sports ministry bring their curriculum, add the coaches into their curriculum.

“Let coaches be professional coaches not all those people who read Physical Education and will say they are coaches.

“It is people, who have played the game, who know the rules of the game, that should be coaches.’’

He also appealed to the incoming sports minister to ensure that his aides are honest people, who are passionate about sports. (NAN)
