Police disown viral poster of ‘wanted’ Iyabo Ojo

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral poster alleging that Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, had been declared wanted.
The poster, which circulated widely online, falsely claimed that a bounty had been placed on her arrest.
In a statement released Thursday via its official social media pages, the Police described the publication as fake and misleading.
The statement read: “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating about stating that the Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force.
“The Nigeria Police Force urges members of the public to verify information through official channels and be cautious of misinformation.”
The controversy comes in the wake of allegations by social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who accused Iyabo Ojo and others of attempting to implicate singer and Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, in the death of his former artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
