Police catch man who fled after allegedly using machete to kill his mother, promise to ensure justice

Police in Ekiti have found and arrested a certain Victor Lorjaal who went into hiding after allegedly using a machete to kill his mother and sister on a farm.

Motive for the murders is yet unknown.

Ekiti Police Command Police Public Relations spokesperson Sunday Abutu disclosed that Lorjaal was nabbed for allegedly killing his mother, Victoria Lorjaal, and elder sister, Brenda.

Abutu confirmed that the the incident occurred at about 7.10am on March 25 on a farm in Aba Ile camp, Itaji-Ekiti.

“One of the children of the deceased, who is an eyewitness, narrated that while working with the suspect on the farm, he suddenly left him and went to meet their mother and sister at a distant location where they were also working,” Abutu narrated in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti.

“The eyewitness reported hearing their mother scream for help, but by the time he arrived, the suspect had already attacked the victims and fled with the cutlass.

“The Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident.

“The suspect will be charged to court immediately after the completion of the investigation.”

The police assured the public that justice would be served in the case.
