POEMS: Inmates of time

-

By Victor Uzodinma Chukwuma

84. Devoid Moments II

I treasure you deep in my heart

for you are in my soul.

Am proud of you.

Am glad I do.

But coming moments

break me down

I shed tears

for am leaving you behind.

She, there’s a pain in my heart

that you; that you have been,

and the one that I have been

will dangle on time to again be.

So with agony in my heart that’s yours,

tears in my eyes that sees only you,

will and fortitude in my being that’s yours,

I promise, your living presence and self

will not be for long without.

85. Myself

Infinity at thought

bounded at finite limits,

what else can nature do?.

Abyss?

That is all.

And nothing else.

So within the limits

I remain vehemently myself,

impressed and unimpressed.
