Nollywood actress and Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to a wave of criticism that greeted her decision to party shortly after her sister’s burial.
The reality TV star lost her younger sister, Ruth Otabor in an accident involving a Dangote truck in August.

She was later seen in a video on social media clubbing alongside actress, Regina Daniels after her sister was laid to rest in September.
The viral clip triggered backlash from some Nigerians who accused her of being insensitive and moving on too quickly.

Despite plea by Regina Daniels for the public to stop judging her, netizens continued to lambast the thespian for her action.
Reacting to the backlash in a post shared on her X page, Phyna emphasized that mourning is a deeply personal experience.
She also insisted that those condemning her for partying after her sister’s demise can’t dictate how she should “grieve”.
In the emotional message, she wrote, “Grief has no manual, no fixed face, and no timetable. The fact that I choose to keep living, smiling, or sharing moments does not erase the pain I carry. Respect the process, even if you do not understand it. If you cannot extend compassion, then at least extend silence.”
