Nollywood actress, model and Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, has said the emerging streaming industry in Nigeria will soon collapse.
The reality star-turned-streamer made the prediction while speaking during a recent livestream with Jeffrey Benson.
According to Phyna, the current streaming boom in the country won’t last because Nigerians patronise streamers who “clip farm” and thrive on virality rather than solid niches and impact.

She added that the situation has made a lot of streamers resort to pulling stunts and lying just to go viral and get streams.
The 29-year-old thespian, however, admitted that she was also initially “crazy” but has since decided to tone it down because she couldn’t keep up with the energy of her male counterparts.
Justifying her position, Phyna said, “Streaming in Nigeria will soon collapse because Nigerians push streamers that clip farm, go crazy and tell lies just to entertain streams. I was crazy when I started but I decided to chill because I am a lady and I can’t keep up with that.”
She went on to plead with her colleagues to ensure they create meaningful content rather than chasing clout.
