Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner,  Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, better known as Phyna, has frowned at the decision of the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant to add Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, an embattled model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, who withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest over scrutiny of her nationality.

Her criticism came, after Adetshina, who was invited to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant following her forced withdrawal from the Miss SA pageant despite being a Top 11 finalist, announced in a video shared by the organizers on Wednesday that she has accepted to be a part of the upcoming beauty contest.

Reacting to the development via her X page, Phyna argued that Adetshina’s inclusion could affect the chances of “typical Nigerian queens” in the beauty pageant.

She further advised Chidimma to take some time off pageantry and return after the 2024 edition of the Nigerian beauty contest.

Speaking via her verified social media handle, the controversial BBNaija star tweeted, “Just thinking out loud oh. I’m in support of Chidima o, but this one she now wants to rep us like this…. What will now happen to our own typical Nigerian Queens that have been preparing for it too, Omo I for advise her to leave pageant first or for this year… then go next tym.”

After her tweet made the rounds on the Internet, a lot of Nigerians trooped to the comment section of her post and disagreed with her.
