Afrobeats star and half of the defunct P-Square duo, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has insisted the fate of Nigeria does not rest on celebrities alone.
He made this known recently while appearing as a guest on a programme on Wazobia FM Lagos.
Peter was reacting to the incessant calls by Nigerians for celebrities to speak out against bad governance, insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

According to the ‘Bizzy Body’ crooner, it will take efforts from all sectors of the country to bring the desired and positive change to the nation.
Speaking during the interview, Peter said, “I apologise for saying I won’t concern myself with Nigeria’s challenges anymore. I may have security agencies guiding me, but not everyone can afford it. This is our country; it is only us who can bring positive change.
“However, celebrities alone can’t save Nigeria. All those clamouring for celebrities to speak up against bad governance should redirect their energy. It is not a matter of celebrities. This government has failed us all. But together, we can bring the desired change.”
