A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowummi, has replied social media influencer, Reno Omokri over a challenge of giving anyone who could name any school built and completed by Peter Obi while as Governor of Anambra State the sum of $10,000 or N11,400,000.

Omokri, who has been trolling Obi since the build up to the 2023 election, posted via his X handle. “Now, please just name one school initiated, started, completed and commissioned by Peter Obi in Anambra and win ₦11,400,000.”

He later followed the post alleging that Obi’s supporters were responding with insults instead of showing any of the schools built by their ‘hero.’

But in a post on X, Sowummi, a PDP chieftain from Ogun State, said Obi didn’t need to build a new school as governor if the needs assessment of the state dictates so.

He said fixation on building infrastructure by governors were mostly motivated by a desire to loot state resources rather than providing essential infrastructure for the people.

He said: “@PeterObi does not need to start a new school. The needs assessment may demand otherwise. The peer review of his era on education was very good. Fixation on infrastructure is a pipe drain to steal. Enough, please.”
