Paystack suspends co-founder Ezra Olubi over allegation of sexual misconducts, bizarre social media posts

Ezra Olubi, the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of a Lagos-based fintech company Paystack, has been suspended following allegations of sexual misconduct and the resurfacing of old explicit tweets.
The suspension was announced on Friday and is said to take effect immediately.
Paystack said Olubi has been removed from all duties while the company carries out a formal investigation.
The situation began after a former partner accused Olubi of emotional abuse and manipulation in a polyamorous relationship that reportedly involved a junior colleague.
Shortly after the accusations, several of Olubi’s archived tweets from 2009 to 2013 re-emerged online, revealing posts that contained sexually explicit jokes, including remarks about workplace behavior, minors, and bestiality.
The tweets, posted years before he co-founded Paystack, resurfaced on Thursday and quickly spread across X.
In one post, he said: “Monday will be more fun with an ‘a’ in it. Touch a co-worker today. Inappropriately.”
In another post, he said: “With the way I just looked at this young girl, I hope my daughter doesn’t grow a pair of boobs until she turns 18.”
In a statement, Paystack said it is taking the issue seriously and has launched a “fair and transparent review process” to determine the next steps.
Olubi has deactivated his X (Twitter) account and has not publicly responded to the allegations.
