Ozokwor urged fellow celebrities to recognise the influence they have and use it for the betterment of the country.

Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwor, also known as Mama G, has thrown her weight behind the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections.
She backed the former Anambra State governor while speaking recently at an event organised under the banner “Celebrities for Peter Obi”.
The former governor is attempting to oust the incumbent president and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027.
Addressing the gathering, Ozokwor argued that Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources but has failed to make the most of them.
The veteran thespian also revealed her concerns about the current state of the nation and explained why she believes the country needs a change.
“I see this country as a spoiled child,” Ozokwor said.

She added: “There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one-quarter of what God has given to us, would be better than what they are today.”
The 65-year-old actress went on to criticise the concentration of wealth among a section of Nigerians, saying some people had accumulated enough for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, while many others continue to struggle.
“Some people in this country have laid up for themselves, for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,” she noted.
Ozokwor urged celebrities at the gathering to recognise the influence they possess through their public image and integrity, and to use it for the betterment of the country.
“Celebrities here, what we have—we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she said.
