The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has condemned an alleged attack on his wife, Mrs Tawakalitu Alli, calling on state governor Seyi Makinde to be alive to his duties.

Alli made this known on Thursday in a statement signed and issued to journalists by the director of his campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele.

He went on to allege that hoodlums also attacked the APC’s Oyo South senatorial candidate, Remi Oseni, and the party’s candidate for the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Oshinlowo, at separate locations in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on the same day.

The APC flag-bearer further described the attacks on his wife and the two other politicians as “unwarranted and barbaric.”

While demanding that the governor do his job, he said: “As the chief security officer of the state, Governor Makinde carries the responsibility to protect all residents, irrespective of their political leanings.”

Alli also urged security agents to track down those responsible, stating: “The SSACO calls on security agencies to fish out these perpetrators of violence and bring them to book in order to serve justice to the victims and act as a deterrent to violence in our dear state.”
