Otti, Sanusi, Ajaero lead lineup for 2026 TheNiche Lecture tomorrow

The 2026 edition of TheNiche Lecture is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, with Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, billed as the keynote speaker.

The lecture is themed “Governing the economy: Choices, trade-offs and national priorities” and is scheduled for 10 a.m. prompt. It will be chaired by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, while the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, will serve as the royal father of the day.

An e-invite signed by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of TheNiche newspaper, Ikechukwu Amaechi, said the annual lecture will bring together prominent figures from labour, academia, and the private sector, with President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, listed among the discussants.

Other discussants include accomplished banker and former District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 404A1, Chief Ano Anyanwu, and Jumoke Ogunleye, an associate professor in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences at the University of Lagos.

“The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero; accomplished banker, chartered accountant, and prominent humanitarian who served as the District Governor for Lions Clubs International District 404A1, Nigeria, Chief Ano Anyanwu; Dr. Jumoke Ogunleye, Associate Professor, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Lagos, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and a dedicated academic with a passion for knowledge sharing, are discussants,” the invite read.

The lecture will take place at 13/15 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and is expected to attract a wide audience of stakeholders across various sectors.

Mr Amaechi extended an invitation to the public, urging attendees to make time for the event despite their tight schedules, noting that the e-invite format reflects a commitment to efficiency and environmental sustainability.
