Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has stated that he and his teammates are aware they need to perform at a high level in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) to make the required impact in this year’s campaign.
He made this known on Wednesday night during an interview with Galatasaray TV after scoring a hat-trick in his team’s 3-0 thrashing of Ajax in the European competition.
The Super Eagles forward scored the three goals within 20 second-half minutes.
Osimhen headed in his first goal of the night in the 59th minute, before converting spot kicks in the 66th and 78th minutes.

With the feat, the 26-year-old is now top of the scoring charts, having previously found the back of the net against Liverpool (once) and Bodo/Glimt (brace).
After three wins in four group games, Galatasaray are currently ninth on the UCL table with nine points.
Speaking after the encounter, Osimhen admitted that it won’t be easy to match up with elite teams in the competition, but added that they are determined.
He said, “We have a goal. We know what we want, and we know the magnitude of performance you need in the Champions League.
“We want to match up with the elite. It won’t be easy, but we’ll go step by step. We have the individual quality to do damage to every team.”
