Oshoala, Ebi, 30 others make Waldrum’s list for WAFCON

Oshoala who is expected to strike for Super Falcons at WAFCON recently won the golden boot in the women’s Spanish Primera Division

Golden boot winner in the women’s Spanish Primera Division, Asisat Oshoala, and Super Falcons’ captain, Onome Ebi are among the 32 players invited to camp by the Head coach, Randy Waldrum

The invited players are expected to resume a two-week training camp in Morocco ahead of the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by the same country from July 2 to 23.

Other top stars invited to camp to help Super Falcons retain their title are Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, midfielders Rasheedat Ajibade and Toni Payne, winger Francisca Ordega, and forward Desire Oparanozie. 

According to Thenff.com the training camp will open on June 18 in the North African country, and players have been notified to arrive in the country’s capital, Rabat on June 17.

Super Falcons have dominated the competition which began in Nigeria in 2011, and have won the championship eleven times out of the thirteen times it has been held. 

The Super Falcons play in Group C of the 12-team tournament alongside Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Burundi, and Botswana. 

The competition is expected to produce four teams that will represent the African continent at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year.  

Nigerias’ first group game will be against South Africa at the Complexe Sportif Prince Abdellah in Rabat on July 4.
