Ooni: Ogunwusi unfolds agenda, gets staff of office Monday

President Muhammadu Buhari will lead other prominent dignitaries, including Senate President Bukola Saraki, ministers and governors to the presentation of staff of office to the newly installed Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi on Monday.

Besides, a representative of the Queen of England, royal fathers nationwide, members of the National Assembly, diplomats and captains of industries will also attend the epoch-making event.

Unfolding the activities at Ile Oodua in Ile-Ife Monday, the elder brother of the royal father, Prince Adegboyega Ogunwusi disclosed that the week-long event would feature traditional dances and display of artifacts, traditional indoor games and football competition, traditional town cleansing, among others.

Consequently, Monday, December 7 has been declared a work-free day for public servants in the four local government areas of Ife Central, North, South and East of Osun State to allow residents to be part of the event.

Unfolding his agenda for his town, Oba Ogunwusi, who spoke through Prince Ogunwusi noted that though he had already donated 50 transformers as a prince, he would buy another 50 within the next 30 days to further enhance power distribution in the ancient town.

This according to him will attract investors and enhance small scale businesses that will naturally spring up in due course.

He added that Ooni has already opened discussions with Osun State government to set up a football academy and have 16 clubs in Ife which he said would take over 1,000 youths of Ife off the streets.

Prince Ogunwusi, who disclosed that the monarch has one of the best furniture factory concept in London, EH Furniture factory, said the monarch would immediately move the factory down to Ife and will be producing doors, chairs, windows and so on, for local use.
