The investigation by Nigerian journalist, David Hundeyin, for the West Africa Weekly, that the founder of NASCO Cornflakes, Ahmed Nasreddin, an Eritrean, was a big time financier of Boko Haram and other Islamic terror groups in the world, has not been denied by NASCO more than 72 hours after the allegation was made.
The extensive report also showed a man who appeared with President Muhammadu Buhari in two photographs as one of the Nigerians arrested in 2002 for having links with terror networks in Algeria and planning to establish same in Nigeria. The presidency has also not considered the allegation damning enough for a response. This has left many Nigerians shocked.
BudGit founder, Seun Onigbinde, while reacting to Hubdeyin’s report and the silence from those accused, said: “Is that how NASCO, Fraser Suites and other allied entities would keep quiet over the huge allegations of terrorism financing? So unfortunate to have a country without an AGF.”
Another tweet from @cchukwudebelu said: “I’ve noticed that some of Nigeria’s “erstwhile foreign friends” have totally ignored the expose on Nasco and its record of sponsoring terrorism, and jumped straight to the #PanamaPapers. Am I surprised? No, I understood what side they were playing for as far back as 2013.”
@OjeStalyf added: “I wonder why the DSS have not responded with all these serious and damning evidence on NASCO group.”
@iyke_nwabuko wondered: “So NASCO has not released a heavy worded letter denying the expose of yesterday?”
@thebardogbamola said: “One thing I find funny is how these people thought attacking @PeterObi could cover up for @DavidHundeyin exposé on Nasco and terrorism. It’s sad that we are at this level.”
