Ondo will deliver one million votes to Tinubu in 2027 – Ajanaku

The Ondo State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the state is poised to deliver over one million votes in support of the President.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, made this known while speaking with journalists, stressing that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains fully aligned with President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
He noted that the administration in Ondo state considers the President’s re-election a top priority, citing the numerous developmental strides recorded under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda within the state.
Ajanaku expressed confidence that Ondo State would emerge as the leading state in the South-West in terms of votes delivered for the President, attributing this optimism to the visible impact of ongoing federal projects.
He highlighted key infrastructure initiatives, including the reconstruction of the Owo–Benin Expressway traversing Owo and Ose Local Government Areas, the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway cutting across Ese-Odo and Ilaje councils, as well as the rehabilitation of the Ore–Akure Expressway linking Odigbo, Ondo West and Ondo East Local Government Areas.
According to the commissioner, these projects have significantly enhanced connectivity, boosted commercial activities and stimulated socio-economic development across the state.
He maintained that the Federal Government’s interventions have continued to position Ondo as a beneficiary of strategic national infrastructure expansion.
While acknowledging that some of the President’s economic reforms have posed short-term challenges, Ajanaku described the policies as bold and necessary steps toward repositioning Nigeria’s economy.
He argued that the reforms are already laying the groundwork for long-term stability, increased investor confidence and sustainable national growth.
The commissioner further dismissed speculations of any rift between the Ondo State government and the Presidency, insisting that both tiers of government enjoy a cordial and productive working relationship.
He urged residents to disregard what he described as misleading narratives and politically motivated claims capable of undermining the existing synergy.
Calling for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Ajanaku emphasised the need for intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
He expressed optimism that continued collaboration between Ondo State and the Federal Government would accelerate development and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt across all communities.
