Ondo rallies behind Tinubu for 2027, hails APC convention unity

The Ondo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring its readiness to consolidate and surpass its previous electoral performance.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, gave the assurance during a media interaction with journalists following the just concluded National Convention of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja.
Ajanaku said Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the leader of the party in the state, had pledged unwavering support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressing that Ondo remains a stronghold of the ruling party.
He recalled that the state delivered the highest votes for the President in the South-West during the last general election, expressing optimism that the feat would not only be repeated but surpassed in 2027 through intensified grassroots mobilisation.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa has assured party stakeholders of renewed efforts to strengthen party structures and galvanise support across all strata, with a view to reinforcing the dominance of the APC in the state.
The commissioner congratulated party members in Ondo State and across the country, describing the convention as a clear demonstration of unity, cohesion, and preparedness for future electoral contests.
He noted that the outcome of the gathering has further positioned the APC for electoral success, particularly in the next presidential poll, as it reflects a united front within the party’s leadership and rank-and-file.
Ajanaku also justified the state’s continued support for the President, citing ongoing federal infrastructural projects with direct impact on Ondo State.
These, he said, include the 71-kilometre Ondo segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, the ongoing construction of the Ore-Ondo Road, and plans surrounding the proposed Ondo Sea Port, among others.
He added that such interventions have significantly boosted the state’s economic outlook and underscored the need for sustained backing of the Tinubu administration.
Ajanaku, on behalf of the governor, the state government and the people of Ondo State, further extended warm birthday felicitations to the President, wishing him long life, sound health, and wisdom in steering the affairs of the nation.
