The lingering crisis rocking the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ondo State Chapter has deepened as a chieftain of the party and Ondo Central Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Seun Majasan has been suspended from all party activities in the state over support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC ).
Majasan was suspended and blacklisted from all party activities and platforms in the state by the State Chairman, Mr. Peter Olagookun over allegations of open campaign for Governor Aiyedatiwa.
It was gathered that there was a heated argument between Seun Majasan and NNPP Ondo State Chairman Mr. Peter Olagookun, alongside some other party leaders when the state chairman who had earlier petitioned Majasan for support of Aiyedatiwa was discovered that he was as well on the same Aiyedatiwa support platform.
Secondly, Majasan was accused of being totally against the new party logo introduced by Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the former Kano Governor and NNPP Presidential Candidate of the 2023 General election which was against the personal interest of Mr. Peter Olagookun.
It was learnt that because of these reasons, Dr. ‘Seun Majasan was alleged to have been found guilty as pronounced by state chairman and was blacklisted from all NNPP state activities
Reacting to this, Majasan who was reached via a WhatsApp conversation, confirmed the incidence and said he has no regret supporting Aiyedatiwa and unapologetic about rejecting NNPP’s new logo.
He said up till date no leader in NNPP has reached out to him on the incident saying that this might be a U-turn for him any moment from now.
“I guess my time in NNPP is up and it’s time to move forward, it’s time to move with winners and not losers. Let me say here that because of the incapability of the Chairman Mr. Olagookun, NNPP can never grow in Ondo State, no wonder several capable members had left the party because of the way and manner the party is been run like a family business.
“It is unfortunate that Mr. Olagookun has destabilised the party in Ondo State. Can you imagine in the whole Ondo State NNPP platform all the members there are less than 40 in numbers. NNPP keeps on losing its best and if care is not taken, the party might be history soon in Ondo state,” Majasan added.
