Ondo LG Poll: Akeredolu insists that opposition parties who won must be declared

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Monday appealed to the Ondo State independent electoral commission ODIEC to declare councillorship

candidates who won the local government election in Ondo state regardless of their political parties.

Akeredolu who made the plea in Akure, the state capital at the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Chairmen insisted that Non APC councilors must be declared.

The governor stressed that there would be no room for arrogance or violence in the state.

Akeredolu however urged the new council bosses to Improve on the local Economy for the benefits of those in the grassroots and the entire state.

Addressing newsmen, the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) chairman Professor,Yomi Dinakin said cases of electoral violence,snatching of ballot boxes and others were recorded in some wards in Akure south local government which compelled the commission to cancel the elections.

Professor Dinakin stated that a new date would be announced soon but affirmed the victory of All Progressives Congress in all the 18 local government chairmanship seats in the state.

The eighteen local government chairmen and their vice have since received their certificates of return and sworn in by the Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
