Members of the opposition party, People Democratic Party, and the people of Ondo state have been thrown into mourning by the news of the death of one of their members and illustrious son, Mr Adedayo Omolafe, popularly known as “Expensive”.
Until his death, he was the member of House of Representative representing Akure South and Akure North local governments in the lower chamber of the legislative arm of government.
The late lawmaker, was also the Chairman of Akure North local government before becoming a honourable member of the House of Representative. A dogged fighter, who spearheaded the fight against Mimiko’s government in the court, when It sacked the local government chairmen in the state , will be remember for his contributions to Ondo politics.
Details of his death are still sketchy, as their are conflicting reports on where he died and the cause of death is yet to disclosed. While some reports said he died in the Federal Medical Center , Owo, at 2am today , other reports suggested the politician died in his residence in Abuja.
He was said to be vying for the position of Deputy Governor during the last election in the state, an ambition which would have had unpleasant ramifications for the PDP gubernatorianl candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, who hailed from his local government , but he later dismissed the news as a rumour.
