Omisore joins APC in a political alignment for Osun 2022 governorship election

-

After helping the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched the last Osun  governorship election, a former deputy governor of the state, Iyiola Omisore, has formally joined the ruling party from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In the Osun election of 2018 which was declared inconclusive due to a lack of clear winner after the APC was losing to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Omisore became the beautiful bride in the run off. He threw his weight behind the APC, giving Gboyega Oyetola the boost to win the election with a margin of 462 votes.

According to a PREMUIM TIMES report, Omisore has since then been one of the major policymakers in Oyetola’s government, arguing that the ruling party agreed to adopt his manifestos.

But on Monday February 15, he officially decamped with his supporters to the APC in a move to secure another term for the governor.

Omisore was received into the party by the deputy governor of the state, Benedict Alabi and the party’s state’s chairman, Gboyega Famodun.
