Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Luyi Rotimi dies at 87 in Ondo

A prominent traditional ruler in Akure South Local government area of Ondo State, Olujigba of Ijigba,Oba Luyi Rotimi, had passed on.
The monarch aged 87 passed away after a brief illness at Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
His death was announced by the Palace and the eldest child and first son of the late monarch, Prince Lanre Rotimi on Wednesday in Akure.
Prince Lanre Rotimi in a statement issued in Akure, the state capital said, Oba Rotimi passed on Tuesday 22nd April, 2025
Oba Luyi Rotimi was appointed the Olu of Ijigba by Oba Adebiyi Adesida the then Deji of Akure kingdom on February 6, 2012.
The stool was later upgraded to crown Oba on August 24, 2022 by the then Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
Oba Luyi Rotimi was a former Managing Director of National Bank, Assistant Director General of Nigeria Stock Exchange.
